Mr. Arani Bhattacharyya ..for the State On considering the gravity of the offence namely that the victim wife was asphyxiated to death and the statement recorded under Section 164 Cr.P.C. specifically mentioning the petitioner, who is the brother-in-law of the victim lady, by name, we are not inclined to grant bail. Further, since the trial is due to commence on 24th January, 2021, custodial interrogation of the petitioner is necessary.
