Supplementary affidavit filed on behalf of the petitioner in Court today is taken on record. It appears therefrom that a communication dated January 3, 2022 was made by the Rtg. Officer for Commandant that as per the new guidelines issued by HQ DGBR vide letter No. 12701/Comp Appt/Vol61/DGBR/09/EG2 dated November 18, 2021, relaxation of upper age limit for compassionate appointment has been approved to dispense with the restriction on the upper age limit of widows.

The petitioner was intimated that she will be able to nominate herself for compassionate appointment, if she desires.

The earlier application of the petitioner for compassionate appointment stood rejected on the ground that the petitioner was over aged.

From the subsequent communication dated January 3, 2022 it appears that further age relaxation has been approved in case of the widows.

Accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no.

being the Commandant, General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) Centre to process the application filed by the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment in terms of the relaxation guidelines issued by the headquarters. The petitioner shall file the necessary documents as indicated in the communication dated January 3, 2022 for consideration of her case within ten days hereof and the respondent no. 3 shall take up the matter immediately thereafter and conclude the process within a period of sixty days after the date of receipt of all the documents from the petitioner.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
