The petitioners participated in the process of selection to the post of Anganwari Workers under Cooch Behar - II ICDS Project. They claim that they have not been appointed nor has the process of recruitment been finalised. Mandamus is sought against the respondents to appoint the petitioners. A report was called by a Co-ordinate Bench by order dated 11.12.2020.

Report dated 09.03.2021 has been filed by the C.D.P.O., Cooch Behar-II ICDS Project. It appears from the report that 182 vacancies of Anganwari Workers were filled up from the merit list prepared by the Project Level Selection Committee and appointment letters have been issued to the selected candidates on 27th January, 2015. The selection process has, therefore, been completed.

No relief can, therefore, be granted to the petitioners.

The writ petition must fail and is dismissed. There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all formalities.
