..... petitioners Mr. Anirban Banerjee ........for the petitioner Mr. Sagnik Sankar Sikdar Mr. Ujjal Luckom ....... for the State The petitioners (parents-in-law of the victim) seek bail in connection with Mal Police Station F.I.R. No. 222 of 2018 dated 6th June, 2018 registered under Sections 498A/307 of the Indian Penal Code 1860 and charge sheet no. 278 of 2018 submitted under Sections 498A/304B thereof.

Having regard to the period of detention already suffered by the petitioners as well as the fact that the husband of the victim has been granted bail, we are of the considered view that this is a fit and proper case for making a direction, as prayed for. Accordingly, we direct that the petitioners shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.10,000/- each, with two sureties of like amount each, to the satisfaction of the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jalpaiguri on condition that they shall not intimidate any witness or tamper with evidence in any manner whatsoever.

In the event the petitioners fail to appear before the trial court, the trial court shall be at liberty to cancel their bail without further reference to this Court.
