For the State Having consider the report filed by the learned District Judge, Jalpaiguri regarding the application for extension of time and taking into consideration the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in M. Ravindran vs. The Intelligence Officer, reported in (2021) 2 SCC 485, we are of the view that the exception referred to in the said judgment does not apply in the instant case. The report filed by the learned District Judge, Jalpaiguri has been perused by Mr. Bhowmik, learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners. In view thereof, the application for bail being CRM 44 of 2021 and the application being CRAN 1 of 2021 are, accordingly, disposed of. However, we direct the learned District Judge, Jalpaiguri to expedite framing of charges and thereafter, to proceed with the trial as expeditiously as possible.
