IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA

CIRCUIT BENCH AT JALPAIGURI 22.01.2025. C.R.M. (A) 14 of 2025 12/tkm In Re : An application for anticipatory bail under section 482 of the BNS 2023 in connection with Phansidewa P.S case no. 435 of under sections 189/190/191/192/196/109/118/74/76/79/329(4)/3(5) of BNS 2023 read with sections 25(1A)/27(2) of the Arms Act And In Re : Md. Mustafa ...petitioner Mr. K K Kanu ...for the Petitioner Mr. Kallol Acharjee Mr. Tapan Bhattacharjee ...for the State 1.

Petitioner contends he is not named in the FIR. He prays for anticipatory bail.

2.

Leaned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer. 3.

We have considered the material on record. Petitioner is a member of a gang of miscreants who outraged modesty of local women and even used fire arms.

4.

In view of the daring nature of their criminal activity we are of the opinion this is not a fit case to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

5.

Accordingly, prayer for anticipatory bail is rejected. (Gaurang Kanth, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
