Learned counsel for the respondentauthorities submits a report, which may be kept on record, in Court today pursuant to the previous direction dated March 23, 2021 and hands over a copy thereof to learned counsel for the petitioner. It appears from the said report that the Tufanganj police station have already initiated a proceeding under Section 107 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and started a specific case under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code.

As such, this Court is satisfied that the grievance as to police inaction has been taken care of at this stage.

Accordingly, W. P. A. No. 121 of 2021 is disposed of with the expectation that the respondent-authorities shall try to expedite the investigation as far as possible.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
