The petitioner alleges that the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) is not accepting her application for grant of fresh electricity connection allegedly on the plea that there is already one electricity connection in the premises in question.

Learned advocate representing the WBSEDCL disputes such submission.

It has been submitted that the Distribution Company does not refuse applications made for grant of fresh electricity connection.

In view of such submission made on behalf of the Distribution Company that the Company does not refuse to accept application for grant of fresh electricity

connection, tThe instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 3 being the Assistant Engineer and Station Manager to ensure that the application for fresh electricity connection to be filed by the petitioner be accepted and not refused on frivolous pleas.

In the event, the application is filed, the same shall be considered by the Distribution Company strictly in accordance with law.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties after completion of all legal formalities.
