The petitioner complains that the complaint lodged by him before the Commissioner of Police, Siliguri Police Commissionerate dated December 11, 2021 followed by a reminder dated December 13, 2021 has not been considered till date.

Learned advocate representing the State respondents has received detailed instruction from the Commissioner of Police which mentions that the detention of the petitioner was not illegal.

The petitioner is involved in several civil as well as criminal cases. For the purpose of maintaining peace and tranquility in the locality the petitioner was required for signing bonds.

The instruction given by the Commissioner of Police to the learned Additional Government Pleader on February 26, 2022 is retained with the records. The Commissioner of Police is directed to take steps for consideration of the representation filed by the petitioner on December 11, 2021 and to intimate the fate of the complaint filed by him.

Steps shall be taken in the matter at the earliest but positively within a period of three weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order. The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties after completion of all legal formalities.
