Contempt application is taken up for consideration when it is submitted by the learned advocates representing the applicant and the alleged contemnor that due amount till date has not been paid.

From the submissions made by Mr. Sirsanya Bandopadhyay, learned Senior Standing Counsel representing the alleged contemnor it appears that after determination of the amount Rs. 10 lakhs was paid and Rs.12,54,236/- is still lying outstanding. It is also submitted on behalf of the alleged contemnor that amount is required to be paid by the concerned Gram Panchayat based on determination of amount payable to the applicant in terms of memo dated 28th July, 2025 issued by the Special Secretary to the

Government of West Bengal, Panchayats and Rural Development Department.

Since payment has not been made till date, leave is granted to the learned advocate for the applicant to amend the cause title of this contempt application and add Pradhan, Buraganj Gram Panchayat, Darjeeling as additional alleged contemnor in course of this day. After amendment is carried out learned advocate for the applicant is directed to serve notice enclosing copy of this contempt application and the orders passed by this Court upon the additional alleged contemnor by fortnight thereafter and file affidavit-of-service on the next date.
