1. Mr. Jagriti Mishra, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.

Sudipto Majundar, learned senior counsel for the Union of India are present.

2. With the consent of the parties, the matter is finally heard.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner pressed prayer 9(b) and urged that the Original Application No.1052 of 2023 is

pending consideration before the Tribunal for quite some time. The progress sheet of dates of hearing before the Tribunal is produced for our perusal. It is informed that matter was listed before the Tribunal yesterday (i.e.

on 12.02.2026) and now it is adjourned for 12th March, 2026. It is submitted that since the petitioner is undergoing a punishment, the Tribunal may be directed to decide the matter expeditiously, within stipulated time.

4. The innocuous prayer is not opposed by learned senior counsel for the Union of India.

5. Accordingly, we deem it proper to dispose of this petition by requesting the Tribunal either to hear the matter on the next date of hearing or hear and decide it at the earliest.

6. With the aforesaid observation and without expressing any opinion on the

merits of the case, the petition is disposed of.
