The petitioners were engaged as Gram Rojgar Sevaks on contract basis in the Gram Panchayat. They seek a direction upon the State respondents for framing a policy by which the Gram Rojgar Sevaks may be absorbed in the service of the Government. A representation was filed by the petitioners and the same is allegedly pending consideration.

The Court is of the opinion that whether the Gram Rojgar Sevaks will be absorbed by the State Government or not is a policy decision to be taken by the Government.

A Writ of Mandamus cannot be issued directing the respondents to consider the prayer of the petitioners. No legal or fundamental right of the petitioners appears to have been infringed by the State in any manner whatsoever.

In view of the above, no relief can be granted to the petitioners in the instant writ petition. The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.
