However, the petitioner will remain obliged to immediately forward copies of the petition and this order to the opposite parties.

The petitioner is the grandmother of a girl child born in the year 2013. The petitioner's son, who was the father of the girl child, has committed suicide and the petitioner claims that the mother of the girl child suffers from some form of bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. The prayer herein is for a direction on the District Judge, Jalpaiguri to take up and dispose of the petition for custody being Misc. Judicial Case No. 3 of 2017 as expeditiously as possible.

C.O. 18 of 2019 is disposed of by requesting the District Judge, Jalpaiguri to take up and dispose of the relevant matter as expeditiously as the business of that court would permit and, preferably, by the end of August, 2019 without affording any unnecessary adjournment to either side.

There will be no order as to costs.
