The present application has been filed for grant of bail to the petitioner in NCB Crime No.16/NCB/KOL/2018 registered under Sections 8(c)/20(b)(ii)(C)/29 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

In the present case recovery of 40.250 kgs of ganja was made from the petitioner. Argument sought to be raised on behalf of the petitioner is that trial is pending and only two prosecution witnesses have been examined.

However, there is no merit in the argument raised on behalf of the petitioner considering the fact that for last one year functioning of the Court was not normal because of COVID-19 pandemic. Even otherwise it is a case of recovery of huge quantity of ganja from the petitioner. For the reasons stated above, we do not find any case is made out for grant of bail.
