29.01.2021 SL No.10 Sh CRM 144 of 2021 Chameli Paul Vs.

The State of West Bengal Mr. Hillol Saha Poddar.

...Advocate for the Petitioner present in Court. M/s. Kallol Acharjee, Sourav Ganguly.

...Advocates for the respondent present in Court. The present application has been filed for grant of pre-arrest bail to the petitioner who is mother-in-law of the deceased in Matigara Police Station Case No. 293 of 2020 dated 11-04-2020 registered under Section 304B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

The marriage of the son of the petitioner was solemnized on 23-11-2019 and she died of hanging on 1104-2020. FIR has been registered under Section 304B IPC. The complaint made to the police by the mother of the deceased only mentioned that the petitioner and her son namely, the husband of the deceased are involved. Considering the fact that within six months of the marriage the incident occurred, we do not find this to be fit case for grant of pre-arrest bail.

Accordingly, the application for pre-arrest bail is dismissed.
