For the State The prayer for bail with the petitioner was last rejected on January 9, 2020. The petitioner renews the prayer for bail in view of the long period of detention.

Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the trial has already commenced.

Having regard to the materials on record and the nature of allegation as appearing 164 statement of the victim girl, we are of the opinion that the petitioner should not be enlarged on bail at this stage, but the trial of the case should be expedited. Accordingly, this application of bail is disposed of with a direction upon the learned trial Judge to conclude the trial as

expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of one year from date.
