The petitioner is the widow of a deceased primary school teacher who died-in-harness on 26th August, 2020. Pension Payment Order was issued in favour of the widow on 30th July, 2021 and gratuity and the arrear pension amount was released in her favour on 28th September, 2021.

The petitioner submits that there has been a delay in issuing the Pension Payment Order and releasing the gratuity and the arrear pension amount.

The petitioner has not mentioned the date on which the application was made before the respondent authorities intimating the date of death of the teacher. There is also no averment as to when the petitioner applied before the authority for releasing the dues in her favour.

It appears that within a year of death of the teacher, the Pension Payment Order was issued in favour of the widow. The gratuity and the arrear pension

amount were also paid to her within two months thereafter.

There is hardly any delay on the part of the respondent authorities in releasing the dues of the deceased teacher to the widow.

In view of the above, there is no reason for interference in this matter.

The prayer of the petitioner for grant of interest is refused.

The writ petition stands dismissed.
