The petitioner was superannuated from his service on 30th June, 2016 and PPO was issued on 29th June, 2016. In the meantime ROPA rule was introduced with effect from 1st January, and subsequently on 9th May, 2016 the gratuity as well as the pension of the petitioner was revised and the same was paid to the petitioner on 13th April, 2022. Now the petitioner claims interest on the gratuity amount as well as on arrears of pension from 30th June, 2016 till 30th April, 2022.

Considered the submission made by the petitioner, this Court finds that there is

a delay of about six years in releasing gratuity and pension of the petitioner. The petitioner is entitled to get interest on gratuity amount as well as on arrears of pension at the rate of 10 per cent per annum with effect from 30th June, 2016 till 13th April, 2022. The respondent nos. 2 and 3 are directed to release the interest on gratuity as well as on arrears of pension at the rate of 10% per annum in favour of the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

WPA 243/2023 is thus disposed of.
