It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he is in custody for more than a year. Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail. Mother of one of the victims is present and she also opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record. Two minor girls were raped by the petitioner. In view of gravity of the offence and evidence on record, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

The application for bail is thus rejected.

Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date preferably within six months from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties.
