Mr. Nilay Chakraborty Mr. Aniruddha Biswas ... For the State The petitioner is in custody for about 150 days and prays for bail.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated and has no nexus with the alleged incident.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record.

The victim is an auto driver and left his house with his auto on the relevant date. His dead body was subsequently recovered. The auto rickshaw and the mobile phone of the victim were recovered from the petitioner. Charge sheet has been submitted.

The petitioner is in custody for about 150 days. Offence, if proved, shall attract mandatory life imprisonment. Considering the material on record as well as gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

CRM (M) 45 of 2026 is disposed of.
