The petitioner participated in the selection proceedings for the post of Home Guard in Cooch Behar District. The first phase of personality test was held on June 29, 2018 and after appearing in the said personality test, petitioner was not communicated anything with regard to his selection.

Petitioner made a representation before the Superintendent of Police, District-Cooch Behar with a request to intimate the result, but no response was made by the concerned police authority. Hence the petitioner has filed this writ petition.

Learned advocate appearing for the State hands over the instruction from the Superintendent of Police, Home Guards, Cooch Behar. The said instruction

suggests that although the petitioner had passed the physical efficiency test, but he failed to obtain qualifying marks which was to be awarded on the basis of his academic performances. The cut-off marks was 14.51 whereas the score of the petitioner was 6.9. In view of the above, no further order needs be passed in this writ petition.

The writ application being WPA 304 of 2020 is, accordingly, disposed of.
