Mr. Sunil Kumar Sarkar, Advocate ......for the Appellant This is application under Article 226 of the Constitution of India filed by the petitioner with innocuous prayer to direct the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal to dispose of the OA No. 2272 of 2014 expeditiously.

At the very outset we must record that the copy of the writ-petition has not been served upon the State and naturally there is no representation on their behalf. Considering the nature of the relief claimed in the instant writ-petition, we feel it would be an idle formality if the instant writ-petition is kept pending before this court. We have been informed by the learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner that the next date fixed by the Tribunal is December 12, 2019.

We, therefore, direct the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal to take up the application being OA No. 2272 of 2014 on the date so fixed and endeavour shall be shown to dispose of the same within four weeks therefrom after affording an opportunity of hearing to all the parties concerned and by reasoned order.

Nothing in this order shall be construed to have any persuasive value on the merit of the said application as we have no occasion to go into the same.

With these directions, the writ-petition being WPLRT 01 of 2019 is disposed of. No order as to costs.
