The sole grievance of the petitioner is denial of right to take admission in Graduate Medical Education Course for the academic sessions 20232024. Mr.
Supratik Roy, learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that if fair admission process would have been followed by the concerned State authorities petitioner in terms of merit would have come within the zone of consideration for being selected to take admission in Graduate Medical Education Course for the academic sessions 2023-2024.
It has also been stated that by taking advantage of extension of time the authorities on dilution of merit took steps for admission of some other candidates.
Mr. Sirsanya Bandopadhyay, learned advocate representing the Medical Counseling Committee being the authority to take steps for admission of students in medical education course submits that the last date for taking admission in Graduate Medical Education Course for the academic sessions 2023-2024 was 30th September, 2023 and vide order of the Hon'ble Supreme court dated 30th October, 2023 same was extended for a period of two weeks as a result whereof beyond 15th November, 2023 there is no scope left open to permit a student to take admission in Graduate Medical Education Course for the academic sessions 2023-2024.
Since the issue relating to taking admission in Graduate Medical Education Course for the academic sessions 2023-2024 has been set at rest vide order dated 30th October, 2023 of the Hon'ble Supreme Court extension of time to take admission beyond 15th November, 2023 as prayed for by the petitioner to permit her to take admission in Graduate Medical Education Course for the academic sessions 2023-2024 cannot be acceded to at this belated stage
Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
