The petitioners were engaged in the post of Lecturers in the Kalimpong Government P.T.T.I., Kalimpong by a letter of engagement issued in their favour in July 2003. The petitioners took charge and joined duty soon thereafter.
The grievance of the petitioners is that their services have not been approved by the competent authority till date.
The petitioners approached the respondent authorities by filing a representation on 13th January 2020. The same has not been considered by the respondents till date.
The petitioners rely upon orders of consideration passed by Co-ordinate Benches of this court in similar matters.
The learned advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents submits that necessary direction may be passed for consideration of the representation of the petitioners.
In view of the above, without going into the merits of the case at the moment, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Principal Secretary, Gorkhaland Territorial Administration to take a decision with regard to the representation made by the petitioners on 13th January 2020 in accordance with law within a period of ten weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order. The said respondent shall afford an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners or their authorized representative and shall pass a reasoned order and communicate the same to the petitioners within a fortnight thereafter.
W.P.A. No. 440 of 2020 is disposed of.
Affidavit of service filed in court is taken on record.
