Obaidullah Ms. Ankita Dey ......for the petitioner Mr. Pretom Das Mr. Sumit Kumar ......for the State Ms. Mousumi Bhowal ......for the respondents The father of the petitioner was an employee of Mathabhanga Municipality. He was working as Group-D staff from the period 01.08.1998. During the period of his service, he expired on 01.12.2013. The petitioner made an application for compassionate appointment on 11.02.2014. It is the case of the petitioner that he has not heard back on his application from the municipal authorities. The petitioner again made a representation on 03.01.2024 for seeking compassionate appointment with the municipal authorities. The said representation has not been decided. Learned counsel for the respondent authorities states that the present writ petition can be disposed of with a direction to decide the representation in a time bound manner.

The petitioner agrees to the said suggestion and prays the present writ petition to be disposed of with a

direction to the respondent/municipal authorities to decide his representation dated 03.01.2024.

This Court directs the respondents to consider the representation dated 03.01.2024 by way of a speaking order after granting an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

Needless to state that the petitioner will be at liberty to challenge the said speaking order in accordance with law.

With this direction, the writ petition is disposed of. Affidavit of service is taken on record.
