Writ petitioner has prayed for reconnection of electricity since it was disconnected on 13th February, 2024.

The learned advocate representing the WBSEDCL submits that other heirs of the consumer made application for disconnection and based on which the line was disconnected on 13th February, 2024. However, it is also submitted that if fresh application is made by the petitioner for new connection the same will be considered and appropriate steps would be taken for expeditious connection of electricity to the premises of the petitioner.

Accordingly, leave is granted to the petitioner to make application for new connection and if such application is made within 48 hours from date the concerned authority of WBSEDCL shall effect supply of electricity to the premises of the petitioner within 48 hours thereafter upon compliance of necessary formalities and on accepting requisite payment.

With the aforesaid direction the writ petition stands disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
