Heard learned counsel appearing for the parties. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is languishing in custody for 685 days. However, the trial is still at a nascent stage since only one of the prosecution witnesses has been examined. We are of the view that the purpose of justice would be served in the event the trial is expedited.

Accordingly, the learned Special Judge (under POCSO Act)-cum-Additional Sessions Judge, Mathabhanga, Cooch Behar, is requested to expedite the trial of POCSO Case No.

15 of 2019 and to make all endeavour to dispose of the case within six months from the date of communication of this order to the said court.

CRM 259 of 2021 is disposed of accordingly. There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
