The petitioner has filed the present application praying for grant of interest upon delay payment of gratuity and on arrears of pension to the husband of the petitioner. On 31st January, 1999 the husband of the petitioner has been superannuated from service and PPO was issued on 30th September, 2001. The husband of the petitioner received the gratuity and arrears of pension on 30th September, 2001. On 4th May, 2017 the husband of the petitioner died.

This Court finds that during the lifetime the husband has not claimed any interest and he must be satisfied with the

gratuity amount and the arrear pension amount paid to the husband of the petitioner in the year 2001 and, as such, at the belated stage, after the death of the husband, the petitioner cannot claim any interest and, thus WPA No. 420 of 2023 is dismissed.
