It appears that respondent no. 2, the University, issued a show cause notice on April 04, 2022 against the petitioner for some alleged irregularities or illegalities committed by him as a Professor in the Department of Bengali at the University.

The petitioner gave a reply to the said show cause notice on April 13, 2022.

It has been submitted by the learned advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioner that the university has not yet concluded the proceeding. It has been further submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that the university has illegally deducted his one day's salary without issuing any formal order. It has been submitted by the university that it will conclude the proceeding within three months. It has been further submitted that the matter regarding the deduction of one day's salary shall also be

addressed by the University within a period of three weeks from date.

In that view of the matter, nothing remains to be decided in the writ petition.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the university to consider the reply of the petitioner dated April, 13, 2022 to the show cause notice dated April 04, 2022 and pass an appropriate order in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date communication of this order. The university shall also take a decision with regard to the alleged deduction of one day's salary of the petitioner within a period of three weeks from date. Accordingly WPA 423 of 2023 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
