The petitioner was superannuated from his service on 31.1.2018 and PPO was issued on 13.9.2018. In the meantime ROPA rule was introduced with effect from 1st January, and subsequently on 7.12.2020 the gratuity as well as the pension of the petitioner was revised and the same was paid to the petitioner on 28.12.2020.

Now the petitioner claims interest on the gratuity amount as well as on arrears of pension from 31.1.2018 till 28.12.2020.

Considered the submission made by the petitioner, this Court finds that there is

a delay of more than two years for release of gratuity and pension of the petitioner. The petitioner is entitled to get interest on gratuity amount as well as on arrears of pension at the rate of 07 per cent per annum with effect from 31.1.2018 till 28.12.2020.

The respondents are directed to release the interest on gratuity as well as on arrears of pension at the rate of 07% per annum in favour of the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

WPA 441 of 2023 is thus disposed of.
