Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner's father was an employee of the North Bengal State Transport Corporation. He joined the concerned as a driver in 1988. He passed away on 18.08.2010 while in service leaving behind the petitioner, his elder brother, sister and mother. Immediately thereafter, the petitioner made an application for compassionate appointment on 23.11.2010. The petitioner also submitted a proforma application before the authorities. In spite of this, the representation was not acted upon. Every time the petitioner met the authorities, he was assured

that his appointment was under process. Accordingly, the petitioner made another representation on 06.11.2024 for consideration. But, the same has not been responded to as yet.

The State is represented.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the NBSTC submit that in the event any representation is pending consideration, the same would be done in accordance with law.

In view of the above, let the petitioner's representation dated 06.11.2024 be considered by the Chairman of the North Bengal State Transport Corporation in accordance with law and as expeditiously as possible, preferably within eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
