The writ petitioner had claimed compensation for setting up of a high tension line over the petitioner's land and for erecting the transmission pole thereat.

Learned counsel for the State submits that the compensation to the petitioner has already been paid. In that view of the matter, the writ petitioner may take suitable instructions in this regard from his client. If however, it is found that the compensation to the petitioner has not been paid, the District Magistrate, Jalpaiguri shall in terms of the Works for Licensee Rules decide the petitioner's claim for compensation after being satisfied that he has not already been paid.

The respondent nos.4 and 5 shall be heard along with the petitioner.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
