Several orders have been passed by this Court in this contempt proceeding and it appears that the alleged contemnors have failed and neglected to comply with the direction issued from time to time. Today, when the matter was called on, none appeared. Thereafter, an intimation was sent to Ms. Bedashruti Bose, learned advocate who assisted the learned Additional Advocate General in this matter. Ms. Bose sought for a short pass over but, has not come back with necessary instructions. This Court deems it fit to issue a Rule against the Executive Engineer, Siliguri Irrigation Division, Siliguri to be present in Court on June 8, 2026 when the matter will appear next.
