Mr. Hillol Saha Podder ... for the petitioner Mr. Subir Kumar Saha Ms. Bedashruti Bose ... for the State Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. Immediately before the last Lok Sobha election, the respondent authorities conducted a drive to mop up cash and other articles that were being allegedly used in the election. Some money was seized from the present petitioner. Subsequently, the petitioner prayed for release of such cash.

But, the same has not been done.

representation in this regard was made by the petitioner on 27.02.2025 before the District Magistrate, Jalpaiguri Cum District Election Officer and others. But, the same has not been responded to as yet. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that in the event such a representation is pending consideration, the same would be decided in accordance with law.

In view of the above, let the District Magistrate, Jalpaiguri Cum District Election Officer consider the petitioner's prayer dated 27.02.2025 in accordance with law and as expeditiously as possible, preferably within eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
