The petitioner undertakes to affirm and stamp the petition as per the Rules within 48 hours of resumption of normal functioning of the Court. The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of such undertaking.

The petitioner claims that his wife committed suicide out of depression and the petitioner had no role to play in such act. The State says that there are credible witness statements to the effect that the petitioner would physically torture his wife and make persistent demands for dowry.

Since the charge-sheet has been filed and the petitioner does not appear to have been involved in the incident which led to the unnatural death of the victim, the further custodial interrogation of the petitioner may not be necessary.

The petitioner will be enlarged on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs.10,000/- (ten thousand only) together with two sureties of like amount each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the appropriate court in Cooch Behar. The petitioner will attend every

date fixed for trial and any unexplained absence will entitle the trial court to cancel the bail without reference to this Court. CRM 5283 of 2020 and CRAN 3595 of 2020 are disposed of. (Sanjib Banerjee, J.) (Aniruddha Roy, J.)
