The petitioners qualified in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2022. They seek admission in the vacant seats of the medical college.

Learned advocate representing the West Bengal University of Health Sciences submits, upon instruction that, all admissions pursuant to NEET 2022 have been closed in December 2022.

It appears that NEET 2023 Examination will be conducted very soon.

At this stage it will not be proper to permit the petitioners to seek admission in the vacant seats of the medical colleges consequent to the examination conducted in the year 2022.

In view of the above, no relief can be granted to the petitioners in the present writ petition.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed.

It will, however, be open for the petitioners to appear in the NEET 2023 examination, if permissible in law.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible.
