Challenge in the writ petition is directed against an order dated March 2, 2023 passed in O.A. 350/00317/2020 by the Central Administrative Tribunal.

By the impugned order, the Tribunal rejected the original application for compassionate appointment. Writ petitioner before us applied for grant of compassionate appointment. The date of death of the employee is August 14, 2001. Application for compassionate appointment was made 15 years after the date of death in 2016.

Delay is one of the ground on which prayer for compassionate appointment was rejected.

Delay is a relevant factor in considering the ground for compassionate appointment. The delay in the facts and circumstances is large enough to deny the claim for compassionate appointment.

Learned Tribunal considered such aspect of the matter apart from others.

In such circumstances, we find no ground to interfere in this writ petition.

WP.CT. 1 of 2024 is dismissed without any order as to costs.
