The petitioner has superannuated from his service on 31.3.2018 and PPO was issued on 1.9.2018. In the meantime ROPA rule was introduced with effect from 1st January, and subsequently on 8.10.2021 the gratuity as well as the pension of the petitioner was revised and the same was paid to the petitioner on 30.10.2021.

Now the petitioner claims interest on the gratuity amount as well as on arrears of pension from 2.9.2018 till 31.10.2021.

Considered the submission made by the petitioner, this Court finds that there is a delay of three years for release of arrears of

gratuity and pension of the petitioner. The petitioner is entitled to get interest on gratuity amount as well as on arrears of pension at the rate of 08 per cent per annum with effect from 2.9.2018 till 31.10.2021.

The respondents are directed to release the interest on gratuity as well as on arrears of pension at the rate of 08% per annum in favour of the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

WPA 653 of 2023 is thus disposed of.
