In CPAN 16 of 2021 arising out of WPA 280 of 2021 this Court directed the contemnors 1 and 2 to pay a sum of Rs.39245742/- to the petitioners towards acquisition of land in question as per direct purchase policy envisaged by the Government of India within a specific period of time.

It is submitted by Mr. Roy, the learned Advocate for the petitioners that subsequent to the said order being passed there was a settlement between the petitioners and the contemnors and as per such settlement the contemnors deposited on 20th December, 2021 a sum of Rs. 29507352/- with the District Magistrate towards the cost of acquisition of administrative cost. Now, the petitioners are agreeable to accept Rs. 29215200/- excluding the administrative cost.

Since the parties have settled the dispute between themselves, the instant contempt proceeding be dropped.

The parties are directed to complete formal acquisition process within one month from the date of this order.
