The petitioner was recommended for appointment as an Assistant Teacher at Bidhan Smriti Primary School, a school under Khoribar Circle of Siliguri Primary School Council vide recommendation memo bearing No. 144/(C)/Psc-Slg dated July 19, 2021.

In terms of the said recommendation, the petitioner was required to join the said school within 15 days from the date of issuance of the said recommendation; in default, such recommendation was directed to be cancelled. The petitioner had failed to join the school within the said time. The petitioner is alleging that due to her illness and pregnancy, she could not join the school within the said time and is praying issuance of re-recommendation. The medical documents annexed with the writ petition were issued either prior to the issuance of the said recommendation or much after such issuance. The petitioner has approached the Council long after cancellation of the said recommendation.

In the backdrop of such facts and circumstances, the prayer of the petitioner for re-recommendation is refused, accordingly, WPA 720 of 2025 is dismissed without any order as to costs.
