APP Mr. Subhasish Misra ... for the State Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that there has been seizure of 145 grams of brown sugar along with 48 bottles of Codeine Phosphate in connection with the instant case and the petitioner has been detained since 19th December, 2024.

The main thrust of contention of the petitioner is the period of detention being almost six months, as such, learned advocate submits that the petitioner may be released on bail on any stringent condition.

Learned advocate for the State submits that already charge-sheet has been submitted and subsequently, after availability of FSL Report, Supplementary Charge-sheet has already been submitted. Learned advocate also submits that dates have been fixed for production and for progressing with the case to the next stage.

Having regard to the stage of the case and the nature of the recovery so effected, at this stage, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

However, the petitioner would be at liberty to pray for renewal of his bail application after the stage of consideration of charges is over.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 179 of 2025 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
