The petitioners are claiming to be the owners of L.R. Plot No.876 in Mouza- Joginvita, District: Jalpaiguri, they are alleging that the said land has been exploited for laying down the pipeline in Paradip Numaligarh Crude Oil Pipeline Project, consequently they were served with a notice under Section 3 of the Petroleum and Minerals Pipelines (Acquisition of Right of User in Land) Act, 1962.

The petitioners are complaining that though they have a representation praying such compensation is pending but same could not attract the attention of the competent authority, the respondent no. 3 herein.

Mr. Arijit Ghosh, learned advocate for the petitioners submits that the competent authority at last, after filing of the writ petition, has invited the petitioners for a discussion over the issue by a notice dated May 3, 2025, he files a copy of the said notice, let it be kept with the record.

In view of such development, the respondent no.3 is directed to dispose of the issue regarding payment of said

compensation in accordance with law expeditiously, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order, after the giving the petitioners opportunity of hearing. WPA 1058 of 2025 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.
