APP Mr. Kallol Nag ... for the State Learned advocate for the petitioners is aggrieved by the progress of the case as the charge-sheet was already submitted and, in spite of that, no steps have been taken by the prosecution. Learned advocate also submits that the petitioner(s) along with the others are in the custody for 186 days and, till date, copies have not been supplied for taking the proceedings at the stage of consideration of charges, as

such, they may be enlarged on bail on any stringent conditions.

Mr. Chakraborty, learned advocate appears on behalf of the State and opposes the prayer for bail. Learned advocate submits that date has been fixed on 20th June, 2025 for supply of copies. The petitioner(s) along with the others are involved in the offence complained of and from their joint possession 467.9 gm brown sugar were recovered.

Having considered the amount of recovery from the joint possession of the petitioner(s) and the others, I am not inclined to release the petitioners on bail at this stage. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioners are Rejected.

However, the learned Special Court is directed to ensure that copies are supplied in course of this month preferably by 30th June, 2025 and a convenient date be fixed by 31st July, 2025 for consideration of charges. Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 198 of 2025 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
