A criminal case being Sitai Police Station Case No. 256 of 2024 under Sections 126(2)/ 115(2)/117(2)/74/351(2)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 has been registered against the private respondent nos. 6-20 on the basis of a complaint lodged by the petitioners.

The petitioners are alleging that the Investigating Officer is not conducting the investigation properly, they are praying that the Director General of Police, West Bengal, the respondent no.2 herein and the Superintendent of Police, Cooch Behar, the respondent no.3 herein may be directed to monitor the investigation. Ms. Bose, learned Advocate for the State submits that it is a completely private dispute between the petitioners and the private respondents, she however submits that investigation is complete and charge sheet has already been filed.

In view of such development the prayer of the petitioners have become infructuous, WPA 1068 of 2025 is dismissed as such without any order as to costs.
