The petitioners undertake to affirm and stamp the petition as per Rules within a week from date of passing of this order. Subject to such undertaking, the application is taken up for hearing.

The petitioners are two out of several accused persons. The allegation is that the accused persons intercepted the complainants and their associates on the street, hurled bombs at them and injured them severely. The petitioners say that this was the fall out of a political rivalry. We have seen the injury report which records bomb blast injury having been suffered by the victims. We have seen the statements of eyewitnesses recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure specifically naming the accused persons including the present petitioners. The State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail and submits that the investigation is at the nascent stage.

Having considered the seriousness of the charges and the material on record and the fact that investigation is at an early stage, we are not inclined to allow the prayer of the petitioners for anticipatory bail.

Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail being CRM 823 of 2021 is dismissed.
