The grievance of the petitioner is that his application for grant of education loan under the 'Vidya Lakshmi Common Education Loan Scheme' made on 8th December, 2020 has not been considered by the bank till date.

The application for loan was made before the Canara Bank.

As it appears that the application of the petitioner for loan is pending consideration at the end of the bank, accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 6 being the Branch Manager, Canara Bank, Mekliganj to take a decision with regard to the application filed by the petitioner for grant of education loan on 8th December, 2020 strictly in accordance with the scheme, at the earliest, but positively within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

The said respondent shall pass a reasoned order and communicate the same to the petitioner immediately thereafter. The petitioner is directed to forward a copy of his application dated 8th December, 2020 to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of this Court. The writ petition is disposed of.
