The petitioner has preferred the present writ petition being aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the police authorities in not taking appropriate steps for proper investigation in connection with Kotwali Police Station, FIR No. 670 of 2024, dated 02.07.2024 under Section 329(3) / 221/ 324(4) / 351(3) / 3(5) of BNS read with 3(1) (r) / 3(1) (s) of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 (Amendment 2015).

It is the case of the petitioner that despite a direction for reinvestigation, the State-respondents had not appointed any officer to carry out the same.

Learned Additional Advocate General submits that Mr. Binod Gazmere, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DIB) had already been appointed and had been conducting the investigation since 24.02.2025. It is further submitted that the present matter is now pending before the trial Court and is listed for hearing on 29.07.2025.

In view of the submissions made by the learned Additional Advocate General, this Court is of the considered view that the grievance of the petitioner had already been addressed and an appropriate police officer had been appointed to conduct the investigation in the above mentioned FIR.

In view of the above, nothing survives for adjudication in the present writ petition. Accordingly, the same is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Since no affidavits have been filed by the respondents, the allegations made in the writ petition shall not be deemed to have been admitted.
