APP Mr. Dr. Arjun Chowdhury ... for the State Learned advocate for the petitioners prays for bail on the ground that they are in custody since 1st December, 2024 and the investigation of the case has already been completed as charge-sheet has been submitted. Learned advocate for the State, on the other hand, submits that from the joint possession of the petitioner 60 bottles of Codeine Phosphate were recovered and dates have been fixed for supply of copies.

In view of the stage of the case, at this stage, I am not inclined to release the petitioners on bail.

Accordingly the prayer for bail of the petitioners is Rejected.

However, the petitioners would be at liberty to renew their prayer for bail after the stage of consideration of charges are over.

Learned Special Court is directed to put in efforts so that charges are framed by 31st August, 2025. Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 232 of 2025 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
