Application for anticipatory bail is canvassed on the ground that the alleged offence committed by the petitioner is on the basis of promise of marriage. It is submitted that the petitioner and the victim girl had a love affair and the petitioner had refused physical relations. Three days after the petitioner got married to another person, the instant FIR was registered. Counsel for the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail.

Having considered the case diary and evidence on record and having heard the counsel for the parties, this Court is inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

In the event of arrest, the petitioner shall be released on bail upon furnishing a Bond of Rs.5,000/- with two sureties of like amount each to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer and also be subject to the conditions as laid down under Section 438(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and on further conditions that the petitioner shall meet the investigating officer once in a week until further orders and he shall appear before the court below and pray for regular bail within a fortnight from date. The application for anticipatory bail being CRM(A) 333 of 2022 is, thus, disposed of.
