Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The properties of the petitioners were declared to be heritage property by a notice issued by the Secretary, West Bengal Heritage Commission on 5th July, 2019. Views/claims/objections in writing were invited by the owners/occupiers of the properties declared in the said notice. The predecessor in interest of the petitioners as well as the petitioners submitted representations in this regard before the

concerned authorities on 17th September, 2019 and 22nd May, 2025 respectively which are yet to be considered. The petitioners seek consideration of their representations by the authority.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of directing the 9th respondent to consider and dispose of the representations submitted by the petitioners/their predecessor in interest within eight weeks from the date of communication of this order upon providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to all concerned including the petitioner, in accordance with law. The decision taken by the authority shall be communicated to the petitioners within a week thereof.

Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
